Shoulder pain interferes with the entire rehabilitation program. A stroke survivor with a painful shoulder doesn't want to get out of bed, get dressed, walk and even sleeping is very difficult. Most painful shoulders can been prevented, if those caring for the patient are better informed and better trained.
